Join the Digital ART Revolution

The digital art revolution is here. Saatchi Gallery, MOMA, Sotheby’s and galleries around the world are exploring, curating and selling digital art (as NFTs).

Any of you who have been following my journey over the past few years will know that I have jumped into the world of web3, blockchain and NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).

Day 4 Edition from the 3131 BLENDED Project. All artworks are analog in-camera film blends.

From an artist perspective I love that my work can now have proof of providence, as well as built in art sales royalties - so that when my work is sold on again I automatically receive a royalty payment as original creator of the work. These are just two of the many benefits available to artists who sell their work as NFTs.

For collectors, they are able to easily prove ownership of artwork, as well as display their collected artwork on any digital screen - even a watch!

One of the barriers to this digital art market going global has, until now, been the accessibility to buy digital art without either cryptocurrency, or a crypto wallet.

I said “until now”.

Several startups and companies in the world of web3 have come up with solutions for this, and one of them that I have been working with is ‘Crossmint’. They provide a secure, encrypted, payment gateway that allows art collectors and enthusiasts to purchase digital art without owning cryptocurrency.

The payment process is easy. It’s just like any other online payment, and even Apple Pay is accepted.

The collector receives an email after purchase, explaining how they can retrieve the digital artwork, as well as transfer it to a wallet at a later date. The NFT itself effectively stays in ‘escrow’ in a custodial wallet, waiting for the collector.

I believe this will massively assist the adoption rate for digital art, as more and more people dip their toes. In fact, it is already happening.

Starting on 1st October 2023 I decided to release a new piece of blended photography as NFTs each day of the month, for 31 days. Each artwork is available as a limited number of editions - and these editions can be collected and paid for with any currency, or crypto. The editions are affordable too - working out at around £31 each (I know, it’s almost like I planned it!)
